When starting a Blog or a new website, most peoples aim is to either generate funds via traffic, or create a social environment where people come and comment and discuss topics of various natures. Bizarreon is still a new site and every day I am still trying to get more and more friendly users to come and discuss topics and at the same time generate traffic for funds.

My initial thought was to spread the site across the Internet as much as a I can, Twitter, forums, email, other blogs with the same niche etc, the list goes on. Whilst doing this I found a site called LinkRefferal, the idea is you favourite a page, post something on the forum, write 5 review and visit 30 sites in the directory each day, in return your site moves up in the ranks making it more visible to other users. Brilliant idea! – was my initial reaction but after a couple weeks of doing this repetitive process link referral has only gained me 400 unique visits and nothing to show for it.

The quality of reviews written by other users varies from ‘nice site’ to ‘check out my site’, link referral is not good if you want users that want to read what you have to say and are genuinely interested, not just increasing there link count for the day! With the thousands of SEO marketing sites about and link exchanges I am still looking for one with a well established user base with people who care about the sites they visit and write detailed reviews.

If you are serious about getting your site recognised and establishing a decent user base I highly suggest you stay clear from link referral as all you shall receive is junk, I have no clue why so many people speak so highly of it.
